First of all, I would like to introduce the new mechanics and items added with the mod so that they do not create confusion in the future. Daggers first


Daggers



1. Daggers

Daggers are the new weapons that are almost twice as fast than swords, although they have slightly less damage and less durability they are cheap because their crafting require half the materials of swords.



1.5 Glass and Netherite Daggers

A. Glass Daggers

I had to make a quick note here. Glass daggers are made in the same way as other daggers, but they are one use. That's why they will break in your hand on the first hit. It may sound useless at first but keep in mind that even without the critic bonus, it deals as much as damage as netherite axe.

They also used to apply bleeding damage&effect, but i kinda wasnt able to make it work properly. It still stays on the code too i havent scrapped it. Who knows, maybe someday...

B.Netherite Daggers

To make a netherite dagger, what we need are the netherite nuggets added by the mod.

After that we can craft our netherite dagger like this:

2. Also daggers can be crafted in players crafting menu too !

3. Let's make a comparison !

Daggers have 3.0 Attack speed while normal swords have 1.6

It means that you can nearly swing a dagger 2 times faster than a sword and deal more damage on multiple hits.


4. Durability

Although daggers break fast, we can usually ignore them because they are cheap to make, but when we talk about special daggers, you will understand that some of them is not fun to craft over and over again. So what do have ? Magic! I actually mean enchantments but yeah, we have a enchantment book called "Hardened Dagger" which will give infinite uses.

Where can we find it ?

You can find that book in one of the structures in Forgotten Lands, i will explain it in detail when we get to that.

Tihis enchantment only has a book form. You cannot use enchantment table to get it.

This enchantment will not work with "Glass Daggers". They will still break in one use.


5. Special Daggers And Also Intro To Blueprints

A. What is blueprints ?

Blueprints are new items that can be used for special crafts. I'll explain them in detail right after this so keep reading.


B. What is Special Daggers then ?

Well there is two of them, Obsidian(fire), and Emerald(poisonous) which has to be crafted with their own blueprints.

a. Poisonous Dagger

Poisonous Dagger inflicts poison effect for 3 seconds and deals extra 2.5 hearths of poison damage.

And it can be crafted like this:

You can use a pufferfish instead of potato.


b. Obsidian Dagger

Now let's explain the obsidian dagger which is the last dagger from the set. Dagger inflicts fire for 5 seconds at start. Similar to Fire Aspect Enchantment. But let's say if your obsidian dagger has Fire Aspect II on it, applied burning effect stacks up to 16 seconds.

Blueprints


Blueprints can be used for crafting special items added by the mod. There is currently 7 blueprints available at the moment, some of them can be crafted, some of them can only be find in structures and some of them only have 1 use, let me explain without spoiling everything.


Blueprints can be specialized at the smithing table, after smithing table some of them has unlimited uses and some of them has to go back smithing table again. One of the first blueprints i added was for crafting a Enchanted Golden Apple in survival, here let me show you:

1. First we need to obtain a empty blueprint which can be crafted like this with 6 lapis and 3 papers.



2. Then we are going to add the needed material for that recipe to smithing table(which in this case is golden block)


3. And then we can use that blueprint in crafting table to craft a Enchanted Golden Apple


Quick Note:

Blueprints that was inside of the crafting never gets consumed in the process. They always stay in the crafting grid. However if blueprints is "1 Use Only" then after the crafting is done, It will turn into a Empty Blueprint.

Hell Swords And Others...

Although the hell swords are endgame items, first sword of the set still can be useful in the beginning of the game.


And before we even start crafting the hellsword, first we need the Flaming Stone Sword

All you need for that is a stone sword, campfire and some patience. It takes around 2 Minutes on the campfire to finish.


1. Flaming Stone Sword


Flaming stone sword has 132 durability available at the start and has 3 seconds of burning damage by default. One thing they have in common with the hell sword is that they can heat blocks with the cost of their durability. With Sneaking + Right Clicking you can turn:

Stone Variants(including gravel)-> Netherack

Wet Sponge -> Dry Sponge

Normal Sand -> Normal Glass

Logs -> Basalt

Leaves -> Fire


And also Glass can be broken instantly with heating perk.

Fun fact: If you are playing the Turkish translation, you will see that the name of the Flaming Stone Sword for turkish is "Yanarlı Dânerli Taş Kılıç", Which translates to "a stone sword with an illuminated spinner". It was the first name that came to my brothers(8) mind when i asked him which name he would gave this to this sword if he was making it, and i liked it. So we added it.

Additional Note:

However Flaming Stone Swords Heating perk is 1 tier lower than the Hell Sword.

With the Hell Sword you are also able to turn:


Gravel -> Red Sand

Logs -> Crimson Stem

TnT -> BOOM

Now Lets continue with The Hell Swords And Spirit Essence

2. Hell Sword And Spirit Essence

Hell sword has 768 durability available at the start and has 5 seconds of burning damage by default. Although all other features are the same as the Flaming Stone Sword, when it is fully upgraded, it gains a third feature that we will talk about a little later. So lets craft our sword then :


1. We will need the Soul Sand Pieces added by the mod which we can obtain with turning Soul Sand into 9 Soul Sand Piece:



2. After that If we mix this Pieces with 2 netherwart in Crafting Table we will get the Spirit Essence:

And with our Flaming Stone Sword in the middle, if we arrange the following materials on the table according to the shape, we will craft the Extinguished Hell Sword.


(4x Basalt,Spirit Essence,Magma Block,2x Obsidian,Flaming Stone Sword)

Durability of the Flaming Stone Sword will not transfer to the Extinguished Hell Sword while crafting.

In this state our sword has only 487 Durability and lost its Heating and Default Burning Damage, but that's only true because we haven't fully upgraded it yet !


4. At the end we are going to use a lava bucket on smithing table to craft The Hell Sword

Damage of the Extinguished Hell Sword will transfer to the Hell Sword while smithing.

But the only bonuses It get are not the +281 Durability or few additional Heating options, It also gains a third feature which is..:


Also this action does not uses the durability of the sword ! You can use it as much as you want !

Really Important Note: Every action that you are able take with the Hell Sword set is no longer usable if you are wet(In a water column, In a water source block, Under rain.. etc.).


if you try to use while you are still wet*, you are going to see Smoke Particle Effects instead of Fire.

It will not drain the sword's durabilty if Block Heating action is failed.



Forgotten Forest & Alzheimer Effect


1. Alzheimer Effect

Now we can start our main event. But first we need to enter the forgotten forest that naturally spawns in the overworld to get the effect that is specific to this biome only


When you enter the biome, you may see that some items and blocks have changed in your inventory...



The blocks above cover almost all of the blocks that have change mechanic in this mod, with a few more that i will explain in a detail after this.


As soon as we entered the forest we are gonna have a permanent effect that is called "Alzheimer" on us. This effect is going to stay on you until you leave the biome.


So, What does it do ?

Well it converts all of the blocks and few more types of item&block in your inventory to their forgotten form:

But keep one thing in mind, this effect is only valid as long as you're in the biome, as well as the items and blocks that are changed are not damaged. When you exit the biome they will revert to their original state.


Additional Note: Fainted TnT cannot be detonated, Forgotten Leaves are not solid blocks, player can pass through them and Forgotten Glowstone will still continue giving light.


2. Forgotten Forest

At night time you can encounter Neutral Shadows and few Hunter Shadows. This whole biome is from y=0 to 256 is hostile mob spawn proof. You are most likely not going to encounter any vanilla hostile creatures inside the biome.


Also this is the only biome where you can find Forgotten Steel reserves in overworld. Forgotten Steel generates between y=0 to 64 in both Forgotten Forest and Forgotten Realm

Forgotten Steel, Forgotten Realm Portal Igniter, Forgotten Steel Block, and some other non "Forgotten variant" but exclusive to Forgotten Realm blocks&items also cannot be taken out of the biome/realm unless player is wearing Tiara or in Creative mode. They will turn to "?" inside the players inventory.

How does the Item Convertion Works With Details ?

Although the item conversion process is quite simple and straightforward, I need to give a few details about how this whole system works.


1. Logs&Planks

All types of Log&Planks can be effected including all of the fence, fence gate and stair forms:

You can bring your own crafting table into the biome without being effected. But any forgotten block including the crafting table cannot be taken out of the biome unless player is wearing a Tiara


2. Other Items and Light

Lava bucket, enderpearl, tnt minecart and torches are last 5 items that also gets effected by the effect.


This 5 transformed items are no longer useful to you in this state, you cannot use them.

We can't do much for the first three but there is actually way to protect your light, Lanterns will not gonna be effected and can be bringed with you to the Forgotten Realm and Deeper Void.

You may want to keep this in mind for future...


Now that we're done with the overworld, we can begin to explain our new dimension and how can we get there...



Entering Forgotten Lands

Now that we're done with the overworld, we can begin to explain our new dimension. In order to build the portal we need as much obsidian as we still have one more step to use them in building portal.


We are gonna need to have minimum 10 obsidians in our inventory and get the "Alzheimer" effect on us and force the blocks to convert to "Forgotten Obsidian".

After that we can build it like this:


For the portal igniter, its quite simple. We are gonna need 1 Forgotten Steel and 1 Flint. We are going to use them like this:



After that we can ignite the portal and start for real this time.
